LAR Health Plans have Multiple HSA plan offerings Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are becoming more and more popular. HSA’s have been around for a few years now and have become a successful alternative to paying high premiums monthly to insurance carriers. IF you haven’t had the opportunity to learn about this valuable savings tool your LAR health insurance representative is here to help you find out what you need to know to save money too. Moving to a qualified HSA health plan can help save members up to 50% of the premiums you currently pay to an insurance company, allowing you to keep that savings. Depositing part of that premium savings into a tax sheltered, HSA savings account will provide you with funds to pay your annual deductibles and other qualified medical needs without paying taxes on those IRS approved services.
May is Open enrollment month for all Health Net plans offered to LAR members. If you are an existing LAR member on one of the plans, you are eligible to enroll into any Health net plan, make changes to your plan or add a dependent during the month of May. All changes will take effect on June 1st 2008.
Our Kaiser plan has no open enrollment so members may join at anytime. Coverage is effective the first following receipt of application. If you live in the Elk Grove, or another Sacramento zip code territory you may enroll into WHA. You owe it to yourself to compare our rates and plan offerings to those of the CAR association. Transferring coverage over to the LAR plan from Real Care, CAR is simple. No pre-existing condition limitations will apply if you are currently enrolled in other coverage. We offer lower rates and a wider choice of options for LAR members. We have a DPO that offers coverage in or out of a PPO network where benefits are paid by a fee schedule. We also offer low cost DHMO coverage to help you stay on a budget. LAR also offers two dental options provided through Delta Dental. The low option plan keeps members’ out of pocket costs to a minimum assigning low cost co-pays for some procedures. The middle option combines the benefits found in the low option with the ability to also see dentists that are contracted in Premier Access’ large PPO network. The high option plan combines benefits found in the low and middle options but members also have the ability to see any dentist in or out of the network.
Vision benefits are offered to members using the Medical Eye Services Network. Glasses and Contact lenses are covered annually as well as eye exams for all members. Rates for the LAR vision plan members have remained steady and have shown increased value as the costs for these services continue to rise. Enrolling into vision coverage now can help you cut the costs of your annual exams later.
Our billing administrator, American River Benefits Administrators (ARBA), offers monthly billing statement services but can also set you up on automatic withdrawals directly from your checking account if you prefer. ARBA also offers group accounting and billing services for those who have employees to enroll and can assist you with your COBRA administration responsibilities for an additional monthly fee.
