Happy Fourth of July! Summer
is here and so it appears is the fire season. Be safe when
you’re out and about. July 1, 2008 is the day we put down
our cell phones while we are driving. Do you think the cars
will still start? At least we will no longer need to deal
with drivers who have a phone in one hand, a cup of coffee
in the other and are trying to make a turn.
Your CAR Directors went to all
three marketing meetings in Galt, Lodi, and Modesto and
shared information gotten from the June CAR meetings. We
did have some interesting questions from some Realtors®.
All in all, I believe our efforts were appreciated. There
still is no comparison to being at the CAR meetings
themselves.
July is the month we vote for
our new officers and directors. PLEASE VOTE!!! We
currently have 1837 members. That means we need more people
to vote than ever before to make our election viable. If we
do not get the necessary votes we need, we will have to
repeat the election. Go to
http://www.lodirealtors.org/lar_candidates.htm and read
the profiles of the candidates. These are the people who
will be representing you and making decisions for you and
for the benefit of your association.
When you receive your email
ballot, vote for the representatives you want. Remember you
need to scroll down to the bottom of the ballot and click on
submit to complete your vote and make it count. Last year
we had Realtors® voting who did not complete their ballot by
hitting submit and it was necessary to contact them to
complete their vote.

“Emerging
Markets: International Second Homes, Retirement Homes and
Residential Resorts”
As per CAR & NAR this is a 52
billion dollar market and few Realtors® are sharing in it.
They state there will be a “Tsunami of Global Aging” – the
international market will explode. One third of all
residential sales now are for second homes. For more info,

St.
Joseph Statues Now Available at LAR’s Real Estate Store
LAR now sells the St.
Joseph statue that is often used by real estate agents as a
way to help sell homes. The 4” statue sells for $9.95 and
the 8” statue sells for $13.95.
According to a new National
opinion poll, nearly one-third of American adults (63.2
million people) would consider asking their real estate
agent to bury a four-inch statue of St. Joseph in the front
yard to help sell their home in today’s sluggish economy.
Of those 63.2 million
people, 23.5 million would “absolutely want their agent” to
use the symbolic figure to increase the likelihood of
selling their property.
The kits include a free
home listing at
www.StJosephStatue.com, where St. Joseph believers have
listed for sale more that $2.4 billion in real estate.
The tradition of buying St.
Joseph in the earth began hundreds of years ago in Spain,
when Sister Teresa of Avila needed land to build convents.
She prayed to St. Joseph (the patron saint of the family and
household needs) and buried a St. Joseph medal in the
ground. The medals evolved into statues, which thousands of
home sellers and real estate agents across the country now
use as they seek a little “divine intervention” when selling
residential real estate.
“When you have a
competitive real estate sales market, you need to
differentiate your property in a way that consumers can
easily understand”, says Kathy Mason, president of Mason
Works, a business development marketing firm in Boulder, CO.
“We highly recommend that
any serious real estate agent gain a positive, competitive
edge by utilizing the beneficial effects of a St. Joseph
statue. The story of St. Joseph is uplifting – a great boon
to sellers who are worried about all the bad real estate
forecasts – it’s an excellent differentiator,” Mason said.
